The longer the converstation takes, the biggest chance that DV-10 will stop decoding voice. First transmission in given conversation is decoded properly, then the next one sometimes, and next next one usually not.
i n Favorites mode only around ~50% of what I see and hear in sdr-sharp is decoded. i n GSSI mode maybe 20% is decoded (I hear some voice once per hour), however list of GSSI is populated more or less properly Home frequency is set properly (it's easy in one-freq system), squelch is set exactly the same (NSQ 7). Then I am switching my DV-10 to trunk mode. What I see and hear in sdr-sharp is exactly the same what DV-10 is decoding. All transmissions are decoded without any issues. Next to PC, on my desk, I am having dv-10 with stock telescopic antenna.įirst I am monitoring the channel in VFO mode. I am having sdr-sharp with Tetra demodulator and rtl-sdr dongle connected to the rooftop J-Pole. System is not very busy - 1 conversation per 10-15 minutes, I do not remember if I've ever heard parallel transmissions (two gropus occupied at the same time) ever. I am having single-frequency clear TETRA system, base station is located ~2 km from my QTH.
I have paid almost $80 for it and it misses at least half of the transmissions that can be easily decoded by the same unit and the same antenna in VFO/MEM mode.
